Forever Sisters: Jeannine Nieman and Tricia Bradley

Tricia Bradley, Beta Theta-Duke, and Jeannine Nieman, Alpha Upsilon-Southern Methodist University, are dear friends and longtime supporters of the Delta Gamma Foundation. Tricia created a gift that offers lifetime payments in return—known as a charitable gift annuity (CGA)—through the Delta Gamma Foundation in 2010.

“CGAs can both boost your retirement income and ensure the future of our sisterhood,” Tricia says. After hearing about the unique benefits, Jeannine created her own CGA in 2012. “Entering college at the age of 16 was daunting,” Jeannine says. “But Delta Gamma welcomed me with open arms and forever friendships that I cherish to this day.”

The good news is that thanks to new, higher rates for charitable gift annuities, we all benefit more from our giving to the Delta Gamma Foundation.

Now, you’ll receive more income when you create this type of gift, and you’ll feel good knowing that you’re making a significant impact on the future of Delta Gamma.

How It Works

With a charitable gift annuity, you make a donation using cash, marketable securities or other assets, and we, in turn, pay you a fixed amount for life. The remainder benefits future generations of DGs. It’s a great way to supplement your retirement income and feel secure during retirement.

EXAMPLE
Mary, 79, transfers $25,000 in exchange for a charitable gift annuity.

With the old rates: Mary received annual payments of $1,650, a rate of 6.6 percent.

With the new rates: Mary receives $1,775 in annual payments, reflecting a 7.1 percent rate. That’s a payout rate increase of approximately 7.5 percent.
