A Passion for Scholarship

Betty Jennings Moon, Beta Psi-Alabama, is a Charter Group member who has been an integral part of the Foundation's scholarship and fellowship program in recent years. Not only has she sponsored multiple Founders scholarships and fellowships, but in 2006 she annually endowed the Betty Jennings Moon Honorary Scholarship.

In Betty's own words, she explains why she is so committed to supporting Delta Gamma Foundation scholarships and fellowships:

"Delta Gamma has been an important part of my life since I pledged in 1962. While in college, I had sisters who provided love and support and as a young alumna I met a new group of sisters through an alumnae group.

In the early 1990s, I was a member of the Scholarships, Fellowships and Loans committee for the Delta Gamma Foundation. I knew then that this would be a program I would help fund and continue to support. Education is so important, and I wanted to help other Delta Gammas to reach their goals.

In 2006, I attended my first Delta Gamma Convention. That experience truly opened my eyes to what a large, wonderful and diverse group of women we are. I am so proud to be wearing the anchor that so many others wear."
