"Why I Give"

Tracey Doebling Williams, Beta Sigma-Maryland, is a Charter Group member as well as supporter and advocate of the Delta Gamma Foundation. Here she shares, in her own words, why the Foundation is so important to her:

"I give to the Foundation because it is all I know. I became a Delta Gamma at 18 and have never looked back. From college to my first job as a Delta Gamma Collegiate Development Consultant (CDC), to graduate school where I worked with a DG chapter, to my continued career as a professional at Delta Gamma Executive Offices, there has never been a time since I pledged that DG did not touch a major facet of my life. I knew I had to give back.

As much as Delta Gamma has filled my life, one program alone is the most prominent to me: the CDC program.

The Foundation generously supports this program and it makes such a difference. It formed me into who I am today: an independent, confident, dedicated, multitasking woman. It taught me to be a trainer, role model, public speaker, cheerleader, challenger, friend and mentor.

The CDC program has positively affected every aspect of my life for 20 years. The friends I have made through this experience are some of the most outstanding women I have ever met.

I give because I want others to have these opportunities, to feel that pride and experience Delta Gamma's finest. I want others to be as fortunate as me and feel the awe of Delta Gamma's strength and hope.

I would be remiss if I overlooked one selfish reason: I also want my daughters to be Delta Gammas! Maybe they could be CDCs, too!"
