When Jane Rybolt Whitehead, Alpha Rho-Ohio Wesleyan, contacted the Delta Gamma Foundation to let us know that she had included the Foundation in her estate plan, we were delighted. It is truly an honor for Delta Gamma to recognize our members who have planned a gift for the future of the Foundation during their lifetime. We made plans to meet in person, and it wasn't until then that I understood what a strong presence Delta Gamma has had in Jane's life.

Jane knew Delta Gamma from an early age. Her mother, Iris Riley Rybolt, was also a member, a 1930 initiate of Alpha Omicron chapter at Miami University (Ohio). And one by one, as Delta Gamma friends RSVP'd to join us, it was clear that Jane knew what so many of us are learning: Membership in Delta Gamma is for life.

Along with three of her Delta Gamma friends, all initiates of different chapters, we enjoyed stories from college days and beyond. These women met decades ago as part of a now-defunct alumnae chapter bridge group but still make time to see each other and stay in touch. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to present Jane with her Diamond Level Charter Group badge and certificate in the company of our fellow sisters.

Before saying goodbye, Jane entrusted me with her mother's Delta Gamma badge to return to Executive Offices, where it will be permanently housed in the archives. Jane's steadfast support of the Delta Gamma Foundation inspired me, and it is my hope that sharing her story will inspire others as well.
