Kelly O'Connor Opipari, Epsilon Nu-James Madison, is one of those special members who has chosen to share her time AND treasure with Delta Gamma. As one of the youngest members of the Charter Group, we asked Kelly a few questions to better understand why she has chosen to give back to Delta Gamma so generously.

Give us an idea of the different volunteer positions you have held with Delta Gamma?

In college, I was the sisterhood chair, vp: Panhellenic as well as vp: chapter programming.
As an alumna, I have served as president of the Washington DC alumnae chapter, ATC for Rho-Syracuse, webmaster for the Syracuse alumnae chapter and treasurer for Epsilon Nu House Corp. I am currently the president of Epsilon Nu House Corp and am the city sponsorship chair for the Washington DC alumnae chapter.

In your"non-DG" life, what do you do?

I taught 8th grade science for four years with primarily emotionally and learning disabled students. After that, I was the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs at Colgate University and was responsible for all operational aspects of Greek life. I am currently a stay at home mom to legacies Annabella (5), another expected daughter (12/08) and anchorman Nicolas (2). I am involved in a variety of local organizations such as the local MOMS Club for which I was the founding president in 2007.

Why did you choose to include the Delta Gamma Foundation in your estate plans?

While writing our wills, my husband and I talked about the things that are most important to us and what we'd like to have an impact on after our children are taken care of. The Delta Gamma Foundation came to mind immediately because Delta Gamma has had such an incredible influence in my life and helped to make me into the person I am today. I want to be able to help more women experience the unique experience that is Delta Gamma.
